meet the Team

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors (BoD) is made up of volunteers, most of whom have regular clinic contact. Our Board is responsible to keeping the long term vision of our organization in check, evaluating our finances, and evaluating our progress toward our goal of proving that Healthcare is a Human Right. Our Board has voting rights and is made up of the following positions:

President  – Provides oversight of board decisions. Manages Occupy's team by being a pillar of information to connect all members of the team. Collects our mail and manages thank you letters to donors. Helps write grants and other managerial tasks.

Vice President –  Provides support for duties of the President. Stands in for Board President when/if they are indisposed, unable or unfit for office. Handles communications with new volunteer applicants, and ensures a smooth transition.

Treasurer – Supervises financial records, files tax records, and sends financial records to the Board.

Secretary – Provides a written record of Board meeting minutes and is in charge of communications between the board and other volunteers.

IT/Web Wizards

Our IT volunteers control web-based needs to manage the communications between our volunteers, donors, and patients.

Triage

Triage greets the patient, starts the paperwork, and collects vital signs and other key information needed to prepare the physician for an appointment.

Prescriber

The patient talks to a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant. They are accompanied by triage to assist with documentation and refer patients to other avenues of care at Occupy Medical, or with our allies.

Wound Care

Nurses and physicians provide care for cuts, sores, foot issues, and infections. Patients recieve extra first-aid supplies so they can take care of the wound in a hygienic way long term.

Hospitality

Hospitality also offers free hygiene supplies, lotions, nail clippers, socks, condoms, warm clothing, and a long list of other items one might need when unhoused or living in extreme poverty.

Peacekeeping

Security volunteers keep the peace at Occupy Medical. They are in charge of crowd control and maintaining a calm, healing environment for all. They work in conjunction with the Support Services team.
